Barclays Wealth announces the appointment of Laurent Gibassier
Barclays Wealth, a leading global wealth manager, today announces the appointment of Laurent Gibassier as a Managing Director in the Ultra High Net Worth (UHNW) & Family Offices team. Based in London, Laurent will report to Stefanie Drews, Head of UHNW and Family Offices, UK & EMEA and Henry Fischel-Bock, Head of the London office for the International Private Bank, EMEA.
Laurent joins from Cheuvreux (Calyon Group) where he worked as a Managing Director in Equity Capital Markets since 2004, focusing on the European strategic equity transactions of corporate, private equity, family holding and sovereign wealth fund clients. Prior to Cheuvreux, Laurent was a Director at Exane BNP Paribas, where he was responsible for the development of corporate broking services for European companies. He has also held corporate finance roles at Jefferies Broadview and Goldman Sachs.
This appointment is the latest of a number of recent senior additions to the UHNW team, including Christian Kwek as Managing Director, Theophanis Theophanous as Managing Director and UHNW Banker, and Solomon Soquar as Head of the Strategic Solutions Group (SSG). Through the SSG, UHNW clients can access products and services offered by Barclays Capital and Barclays Corporate.
